Someone once said to me that FINE was an acronym of 'Feelings Inside Not Expressed' and it's always stuck with me.
I often ask clients how they are to begin the session and the most frequent responses are "fine" "ok" and "alright." I'm always interested to know what these words mean to that particular individual as my version of "fine" is completely different to someone else's.
It's often difficult for clients to reflect how they feel because they've spent so long telling everyone they're fine that when given the opportunity to reflect they are unsure of how they truly feel.
Are YOU guilty of this?
